Srinagar, November 16 (KNO): Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir on Friday staged a protest under the leadership of its acting chairman Ab Ahad Parra and party General Secretary M Rafiq Ganaie at Hyderoora and Anchaar Soura against slapping of 37th PSA on Masrat Alam. According to the statement issued to KNO, the leaders from different pro-freedom parties including chairman of TeM Bilal Sideeqi, Yaseen Atayi, Shakeel Ah Bhat, Basheer A Tota, Molvi Basheer and different party activists and Muslim League district heads also participated in the protest. According to Muslim League spokesman, Sajad Ayoubi, on this occasion, party leaders strongly condemned slapping of 37th PSA on Masrat Alam and said " it is the worst demonstration of political vendetta". According to party spokesman, they said that, "the administration has made its mind to place Masrat Alam behind bars and it is using PSA as a tool otherwise courts have repeatedly quashed his detention and directed his release but the administration is adamant on placing him in far off jails" "Putting political leaders and activists in jails on concocted charges and slapping repeatedly public safety acts (PSA) on political activists to prolong their incarceration is nothing but a travesty of Justice and democracy," they said. Muslim League strongly stressed for the early release of Masrat Aalam Bhat, Mohammad Qasim Faqtoo, Dr. Shafi Shariati, Mushtaq ul Islam, Shabeer A Shah and all the detainees who are languishing in different jails in state and outside jails.Muslim League appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council, Red Cross, Amnesty International and other human rights bodies to come forward and take the cognizance of illegal detention of pro-freedom people of Jammu and Kashmir under PSA, which accosting to them has crossed the world record.(KNO)
